The next Woodstock Land Use Committee Meeting is this coming Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodstock Community Center (5905 SE 43rd Ave. at Knight).
Developer Vic Remmers will be on hand to give a progress report on his company’s subdivision of the “gateway block” located at the southeast corner of SE Cesar Chavez and Woodstock Blvd. The historic house on the northeast corner of that block has been sold and is now owner occupied. The historic house on the southwest corner has a sale “pending.”
The other main agenda item is to lay out a strategy for reviewing the working draft of Portland’s Comprehensive Plan Part II, which is to be released at the end of September. Public comments will be due at year’s end.
LUC Chair Terry Griffiths’ suggestion is to focus attention on three main topic areas, and divide into subgroups to accomplish the fair amount of work represented here:
- Define a vision and framework for future development of the Woodstock Village Center;
- Create an overarching plan for the future development of unimproved streets;
- Address the question of compatibility of infill housing design.
If you have question or suggestions about any of the above, Terry Griffiths may be reached at 503-771-0011.
