Thank You, Harvest Halloween Sponsors!

BIG THANKS to the following organizations and businesses for providing financial and/or in-kind sponsorship of WNA’s 2013 Harvest Halloween celebration, coming up October 31st:

Woodstock-based photographer Michael Gary is excited to be partnering with Woodstock Neighborhood Association for this event. Michael’s time and talent and WNA’s sponsorship of supplies will enable up to 250 attendees to receive a complementary 4″x6″ photo print of their child/children in costume. Michael is in the process of launching a new business, Photo Booths Portland, which will offer “Open Air” as well as traditional “Solid Shell” photo booths, and he plans to demo a fancy new printer at this event.
The new kid on the block, Southside Swap & Plan is a cooperatively run organization dedicated to building community in SE Portland through a shared play space and the exchange of useful children’s goods. Southside Swap & Play is renting several classrooms at Our Lady of Sorrows campus (5239 SE Woodstock Blvd.) which are already full of toys, games books, and various swappables. In addition to being a financial sponsor of the WNA Harvest Halloween happening, Southside Swap & Play is providing pumpkin-scented playdough for one of our event’s hands-on activities.
Speaking of hands-on activities, O’Tingley, maker of “the finest quality cornhole boards in the Pacific Northwest,” is contributing the use of a couple of their fine game boards for entertainment at our Halloween bash. We’ll have them set up right out front, under cover in case of rain. Based on the professional level of these particular Cornhole game boards, we expect this activity to be a big hit with the adults at our party, as well the little ones…

We are grateful to the Reed College Print Shop for contributing a generous supply of posters and handbills advertising this year’s Harvest Halloween. We also want to acknowledge Kevin Myers, Director of Strategic Communications at Reed, for his part in maintaining a healthy relationship between Reed College and the surrounding community, including Woodstock Neighborhood. Don’t forget to check out Reed’s events listings from time to time (click on above link). The college offers some very high quality events, many of them free!
Located at 5006 SE Long Street, this Woodstock neighborhood-based business is more than a craft studio. LoneSomeVille boasts a lovingly restored farmhouse on a very large lot surrounded by beautiful gardens. LoneSomeVille gardens are open May through October, and their showroom is open by appointment. One of their two seasonsl open houses is a spectacularly spooky autumn celebration, this year on Saturday, October 26 from 5 to 8pm. Thank you to LoneSomeVille for their generous contribution of two lovely vases (one from their conifer series and one from their dragonfly series) to our Dutch raffle.

And thank you to SE Uplift for providing fiscal sponsorship for this event!

MANY THANKS to Woodstock Library for sponsoring the “Not So Spooky” Story Hour at 4pm on Halloween, to ALL Woodstock Community Businesses who will be giving out treats that afternoon (click here to see map) AND to the following businesses for their special contributions to WNA’s Harvest Halloween party:
